Early Literacy Programs for Children, Families & Educators
Our early literacy programming meets the diverse needs of young children (ages birth to 5), families and educators.
Our two signature programs work together: The Story Project equips early educators in childcare and preschool settings with coaching and resources, while Story School empowers families to support their child’s learning through bilingual, evidence-based learning experiences in trusted community spaces.
FOR FAMILIES
Story School
In Story School, children and parents learn together at the same time. The program fosters children’s emergent literacy and language skills while empowering parents to create powerful learning experiences at home.
FOR EDUCATORS
The Story Project
The Story Project provides evidence-based early literacy support to educators and children at preschools, childcare centers and home-care providers.
Hear from Our Participants
Hear directly from families and educators as they share how Make Way for Books and our early literacy programs have changed their lives.
Support Early Childhood Literacy
Too many children start school behind — and without early support, they often stay behind. Your gift helps Make Way for Books equip families and educators with the skills and resources to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
